They’re much better than I was expecting, honestly. I actually really liked the words to the English ‘Lost My Music’. But neither of them are as good as the Japanese versions.

…I was expecting these to ruin the dub completely and sink the anime, Wendee did well, but I didn’t like the lyrics cos they were so desperately trying to fit in the names of the songs and important words that were English in the Japanese version. I just have to pray to Haruhi that we have the soundtrack changed slightly at the end of Someday in the Rain cause it doesn’t really suit the end of such a well done dub. I must say though, I still think that Aya makes the best Haruhi singing voice.

“Lost My Music” actually sounds really good, and “God Knows” isn’t bad at all, either. I have to say, though, that it’s a lot easier to listen to them without the visuals than with. The animation for the scene was tailored closely around the song’s Japanese lyrics, and so the lip sync is WAY off. It’s a little sad, but I think it really couldn’t be helped.
But again, “Lost My Music” sounds really awesome. (Will there ever be full versions of the songs published?)
