Kyon

Kyon is a cynical first-year student in high school who is also the narrator in the anime. When Kyon enters high school, he decides to put away his fantasies of aliens, time travelers, and ESPers and start to focus on what’s real. Kyon is the first person whom Suzumiya would open up to and is dragged in to the SOS Brigade with her. He often intervenes when Haruhi decides to take things too far and is the sole voice of reason in the brigade. While appearing to dislike being in the brigade, Kyon tells the audience that he feels a responsibility to protect Mikuru and Yuki from Haruhi’s schemes. However it is implied that the brigade has grown on Kyon.
